A display curated by Dr Lyce Jankowski in the Money Gallery has now ended.
Coins were collected by Chinese scholars for their aesthetic quality. They illustrate the evolution of Chinese writing from the seal script to modern cursive, bearing sometimes the calligraphy of the emperor himself. This display showed a selection of Chinese coins and related paranumismatica.
