This coin, as well as SICA 3: 2076 and 2077, were all struck from the same sets of dies. George C. Miles (1965 pp. 337, 339-340) suggested that it was possibly the issue of an 'Alid rebel, either near the end of Hārūn al-Rashīd or perhaps in the early years of al-Ma’mūn as a reaction to his naming 'Alī al-Riḍā as his heir apparent
