Hartill figures and descibes this piece (GCC, p. 94) as "?Gambling token from Java/Sumatra". Subsequently (GCC p. 180, #3.226), he again figures this piece and lists it among Bangka tokens, despite its much smaller size and quite different workmanship. It more properly resembles, by fabric, size and weight, the lightweight tin issues of pitis teboh found (and presumably issued) at Palembang, here tentatively dated to 1600 - 1658.
