This example lacks the grooved reverse outer rim of Barker's Figure 113.2. The oblong identification ticket was originally attached to this coin during the examination of the Tamba collection at the British Museum in 1882-1884. If this coin was really part of that collection, it would have to have been part of the Tamba collection before 1800, since Kutsuki Masatsuna retired to a monastery for the last years of his life and died in 1802. In that case this coin cannot after all be a Nguyen rebel issue. However since the coin matches closely the other brass Nguyên Long Thông Bảo coins in the HCR, the implication is that none of these coins are Nguyen rebel issues either.
