Note:
Thierry (CMVS, p. 65) illustrates this regular script short-arm bao small coin which he describes as a hybrid of a Shao Sheng yuan bao (read clockwise) and a Yuan Fu tong bao (read crosswise TBRL). Thierry includes this coin type among a small group of small coins of uncertain attribution which forms part of his broader category of private issues of the 17th to 18th centuries. A provisional date range of c. 1600 – c. 1800 has therefore been applied to HCR 58856 and 58857. Thierry describes his coin as bronze, but the HCR coins look more like brass.
