Note:
Hartill (GCC, p. 152) illustrates a single small variety of An Pháp Nguyên Bảo with seal script bao with mid-length arms and rounded bei component which is similar to but not identical with HCR 58870. Hartill includes this type in his final category of unattributed Vietnamese privately issued coins: “Small copper - Others”. No date was proposed for this coin. It appears probable that this must either be contemporary with the ‘Small Copper – Distinct Calligraphy, Group 1. (“An Phap type”), or somewhat later. Hence here a broad provisional date range from c. 1540 to c. 1790 is given for HCR 58870.
