Barker lists a Trị Binh Nguyên Bảo coin similar to HCR 58881, but with broader rims and less stylized characters. His coin (Fig. 89.1) weighed 2.47 g compared to 2.05 g for HCR 58881. He attributed his issue to the Nguyên Lords (1578 – 1778), based in the south of Vietnam. This date range has therefore been used provisionally for HCR 58881.
