Note:
Hartill (GCC, p. 145) illustrates three long-armed bao types with the legend Trị Binh Thánh Bảo. None of them has this combination of characteristics: seal script 寶, with angular shoulders and arms of mid-length, upper and lower components of 寶 misaligned, 貝(bei) radical of 寶 (bao) oval. A search on Zeno – Oriental Coins Database (https://www.zeno.ru/search.php?searchid=481623&cpage=2 ) , accessed 8 March 2021, shows a substantial number of Trị Binh Thánh Bảo coins, but again none of them with this combination of characteristics. HCR 58902 is an unrecorded variety, made of brass and relatively large at 22.6 mm diameter. As with many versions of the ‘An Phap’ and related unattributed small private issues, it might date from any time within the period c. 1540 - c. 1900.
