Note:

Hartill (GCC, p. 146) included two ‘long-arm’ Li script bảo type Thiệu Phong Binh Bảo coins among his category: ‘Small Copper – Distinct Calligraphy, Group 1. (“An Phap type”)’. One of these has a broader rim and HCR 58917 matches it well.

Note:

Thierry (CMVS, p. 49, Figure 134) illustrates a large example (23 mm) of this coin type. Thierry (CMVS, p. 49) describes the Thiệu Phong Binh Bảo 紹豐平寶inscription as a hybrid of a Thiệu Binh Thông Bảo 紹豐通寶 or a Thiệu Binh Thánh Bảo 紹豐聖寶 (read crosswise) with a Yuan Feng Tong Bao 元豐通寶 which he stated would also be read crosswise. However for any hybrid combination to work, the Feng/Phong 豐 would have to be placed at 3 o’clock on the source coin, which therefore would have been read clockwise, as was actually the case with the Song Dynasty Yuan Feng Tong Bao coin. Thierry only dated these privately minted coins very approximately, between the 11th and 16th centuries.
