Note:
HCR 58967 is an unofficial copy of a seal script Sheng Song Yuan Bao coin of Emperor Hui Zong (1101-1125) (cf Hartill CCC, p. 148, Figs 16.354-360). It has the appearance of brass, but with a greyish tinge and is written in Seal script, apart from the 寳 in Regulari script. Hartill (CMV, p. 112, Fig. 2.245-2.246) illustrates two similar coins which he assigns to his category of ‘Large Copper – Resembling Song Dynasty Chinese Coins’. However HCR 58967 has a slightly different combination of character styles, with the 寳 in regular script rather than seal script.
