Note:
In addition to RIC VI's assertion that Licinius assumed control of Thessalonica after November 308 (pp.504-505), Omissi and Lindholmer indicate a lack of evidence to suggest Galerius's authority over the Balkan region had ceased, therefore suggesting the close cooperation and sharing of territory by these two Augusti. In further support of this dual assignment see T. Barnes, The New Empire of Diocletian and Constantine (London, 1982), p.197-198.
