The Heberden Coin Room archives contain material dating back as far as the 17th century. They include documentation relating to the collections which came from Ashmole himself, from the Bodleian, and from the Colleges. They also preserve the papers of key figures in the subject, among them Stanley Robinson, Colin Kraay and Derek Allen. They are of considerable importance for the history of collections and the history of scholarship.
