Description
This is a copy of the lost Kecho Ruishu manuscript catalogue of far eastern coinage by the early Japanese numismatist, Tennojiya, Chobe, between 1680 and 1713. It is actually undated, but a notional date of 1713 has been entered here.. It includes Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese coins, as well as shima sen (foreign coins of
unknown origin), Chinese amulets, horse coins and Japanese esen (pictorial coins). It's relevance lies in the fact that (according to Craig Greenbaum) Tennojiya's personal coin collection passed to Uno, Muneaki (1702-1773) and eventually to Kutsuki, Masatsuna.
